Don't turn your back on the Wolfpac!

So I have been planning on visiting the Des Moines area since JamFla's return this summer, but our demanding weekend schedules have not yet allowed for this reunion. We have set a plan for me to visit over Halloween weekend. JamFla had the brilliant idea of reviving my Halloween costume circa 2008, Kevin Nash aka Big Sexy. JamFla has decided that her and her broseph are debating adding to the entourage as dressing as wrestlers as well. She asked me for ideas on who they could dress up as so I have decided to give the blogger world a little wrestling history lesson, in the hopes that JamFla can get some costume ideas.

New World Order (nWo) was a group of wrestlers that were known for their logo, crazy antics, and sexy wrestlers. They had unmistakeable hand signs, kickass theme songs, and the popular slogan "When you're NWO, you're NWO for life." The establishment of the nWo helped build the popularity of professional wrestling in the 90's.

Scott Hall and Kevin Nash had been wrestlers in the WWF (now WWE). They left the company and joined the WCW in 1996. They came to the company and promised mass destruction and to take over wrestling. The pair sent out a challenge to the three best wrestlers of the WCW to a 6 person tag team match. Their challenge was answered by Sting, Lex Luger, and Randy Savage.

When Nash and Hall were just about to lose the match to the three elite WCW wrestlers, Hulk Hogan himself runs to the ring. He shocked everyone by turning on his long time partner Randy Savage and helped Nash and hall to save the match and reveal that he is now in a partnership with them. He officially announced them the New World Order of wrestling and changed his name to Hollywood Hogan.... and so it began.

The nWo started dominating the WCW and continued to bully and beat up any wrestler they chose. Their popularity grew. Sting went into hiding for almost a year. When Sting returned he beat Hulk for the title. Nash and Hogan began to have lovers quarrels and ending up splitting up the group. Two groups were formed: nWo Wolfpac and nWo Hollywood. Nash obviously ran the Wolfpac... because he didn't want to wind up in a body bag. Hogan was the leader of Hollywood.

The group ended up getting back together and were known as the nWo elite. They continued to wear the red and black color donned by the Wolfpac. They also made a smart choice and stuck with the entrance song used by Wolfpac members.

The nWo ended up dying out and the WCW went down with it. When the WCW was purchased by WWF they tried to revive the nWo for a short period of time. Some of the WWF wrestlers joined the group, including Booker T and Shawn Michaels. Injuries and personal drunken arrests led to Nash and Hall leaving wrestling for a period of time, which was the ultimate demise of the group. This story was probably completely boring to those of you who don't appreciate terrible acting and kickass wrestling skills, but the nWo really did shape the world of professional wrestling in the late 90's.

The main purpose of this was to wet my own appetite for reliving the glory days of watching wrestling, as well as to give JamFla some background info so she can better make a decision for Halloween options. So I will end this post with some pictures of other members of the nWo when it ran its course so costume ideas can be born!

Note: I am not listing all of the members because there were over 50 throughout the lifespan of the group.

Syxx (before he turned into XPac... SUCK IT!)

Job Search

So I have slowly started searching for new jobs. I have applied for a position here in Fort Madison at the prison in the last month. They told me I wasn't qualified, which I already knew but I figured what's the harm in trying right? I have also slowly been looking for jobs that are not in Fort Madison. The only place I have really looked is in Des Moines. I know myself pretty well and I am a realist and know that I would not like to move somewhere where I don't know someone already. This is why I have been searching in Des Moines because I feel like it isn't too far away from home, and my wonderful friends Dieter Tits and JamFla both reside there.

I started working at my job because the opportunity came up and I need experience to bone up my resume. I have now been working here for a year. There are things I like about the job, there are things I love about my job, and there are starting to be an overwhelming number of things I hate about it. The number of things I hate about the job adding up so quickly, the fact that I get paid crap is not helping the situation. So the search for a job in Des Moines continues, as does research on living expenses in that area compared to here!

It's been awhile

Well ladies and gents... (if anyone even reads this anymore)    I have decided that perhaps I should rekindle my blog posting. Some interesting things have happened in the past year and I could have been gracing you all with my humiliating and embarassing life stories if only to make you feel a tad better about your own lives! Yeah... I've done that humiliating of things in the past year. Anywho, I still read JamFla's blog religiously and everytime I log in to my page I get stared down by my most recent post,( which happens to be New Years resolutions that I have made no progress on whatsoever) and I figure I can start enlightening others with what is going on in my life, or what isn't. Stay tuned for new updates and posts!
